Bet365 employer Denise Coates sees pay dive to ₤ 221m

In charge of Bet365 was paid around ₤ 221m during its last monetary year, regardless of the gaming giant reporting a significant loss.


Denise Coates's income was ₤ 7m greater than the previous year, according to Bet365's newest accounts for the year to March 2023, external.


As founder and joint president of the online betting firm, Ms Coates will likewise have gotten a minimum of ₤ 50m worth of dividends.


Bet365 decreased to comment.


Ms Coates's pay bump means that her overall wage over the previous 4 years gone beyond ₤ 1bn.


Campaign groups such as the High Pay Centre explained the pay bundle as "neither reasonable nor in proportion".


"Ultimately, Britain's prosperity depends on how the wealth our economy produces is shared," said Luke Hildyard, executive director of the High Pay Centre which focuses on pay and accountable business.


"Pouring hundreds of millions of pounds more on top of billionaire fortunes every year isn't an excellent method to maximise living standards and it over-values the contribution that the super-rich have made."


Bet365 also paid a total ₤ 100m in dividends for the last fiscal year - a portion of which would have gone to Ms Coates who owns about 57% of the firm.

Doctors prompted to ask clients about betting


Ms Coates established the Bet365 site in a portable structure in a Stoke-on-Trent parking area more than 20 years back. It is now the most significant private sector company in the city.


After training as an accountant, Ms Coates helped construct the group into one of the most significant online gambling companies from her dad's bookmaking company. Her brother is a co-chief executive.
